Catherine has been a sports instructor for the last 30 years. After her first pregnancy 9 years ago, she discovered the pilates method and its effectiveness in improving her post-natal fitness. She decided to become a comprehensive pilates instructor and studied with BASI. While working three years as a private mat instructor and one year for patients rehabilitation using the Reformer and the Cadillac at a physiotherapy centre in the Middle East, she came to realise the strong connection between pilates and physiotherapy. Wanting to explore this connection further and deepen her knowledge, after moving to New Zealand she studied to become a physiotherapist. Another baby later, Catherine graduated at AUT in November 2020. She is passionate about helping people reconnect with their bodies, treating injuries by working on whole-body strength and balance, teaching good posture and alignment and sharing her lifelong experience in helping people increase their strength. Pilates was a revelation for her, and she believes that everyone can benefit from pilates to improve their life. Catherine divides her free time between her two girls and husband, gardening, and getting away to do dirt biking, surfing, skiing, hiking and horseback riding.
